the best things in life are free

unfortunately, free time to do free activities come in small amounts. if i'm not exhausted when i get home from work, i'll try to take ahonui for a bike ride until brandon comes home. one night after picking up brandon from pcc last week, we strapped ahonui into his stroller and went on a long walk around laie. i seemed to have forgotten how a simple stroll on a beautiful night can enable a husband, wife, and family to re-connect and establish that communication that has been lost to tv & the internet. why in the world do we pay this high cost of living in hawaii if we don't take the time to savor it?

speaking of savoring...(is that even a word? oh well)

i found an old recipe that my mom used to make a long time ago. i think it's a twist off of those bacon & egg pie recipes from new zealand, but i've tweaked it a little and i must say - it's the bomb.

That pie looks delicious. So does that little boy in the back seat. What a cute kid.

hey you should bring your nice pretty bike out here and go bike riding with me and ava! with my ghetto bike=) that kiche(or however spelt or if it's that) looks good. Don't tell me you just baked that for a regular breakfast. if you did..can you bake us a bunch so we can freeze it and then thaw it out when i feel like eating it? =)

The summer before David and I got married we used to walk around Laie at Midnight. We really enjoyed being able to walk and talk and enjoy the cool evening air. We said we would make it a tradition. Umm, that one didn't last. hehe

I really want a bike, but riding a bike in utah during sunset is not like in Hawaii. Sometimes I miss it!

Harmony! Oh, my goodness, your boy is absolutely adorable! Congrats! (I haven't seen you in forever, so that's a little belated, obviously!) I'm so glad I found your blog (from Melanie and Aho), and that pie looks SO DARN YUMMY... I know what I'm making for dinner tonight!
