helicopter tour, picnic, and dinner out

one saturday each month, brandon is scheduled for a day off. lately we have been trying to take full advantage of these special saturdays since both he and i are off of work.

so about two weeks ago we splurged a little and took a helicopter tour over the island of o'ahu (without ahonui of course, he would freak if he got near those rotors). i must say, it was one of the most exhilirating experiences i've ever had! brandon is so in love with helicopters, so this was a big deal for him. my stepdad, walford, hooked us up with the tour and told them how much brandon is into helicopters so brandon got to ride shotgun with the pilot! brandon was was literally flying that morning! the pilot was very accomodating as he let brandon sit in the pilot's seat, and showed him the engine after the tour.

we flew over all of the beautiful beaches on the north shore, went closeup to sacred falls in hauula - which was simply breathtaking, and passed through most of honolulu.

unfortunately, i left our camera on solid ground while we were up in the air. SUCH A REGRET!! while we were up in the air i kept kicking myself for forgetting it. this just means that we'll need to take another tour with a CAMERA this time!

after the helicopter ride, we picked up ahonui at my in-laws, then got some lunch at L&Ls. we found a grassy area in the byu-h parking lot and sat down for a picnic. well, brandon & i sat down to eat while ahonui excitedly ran free and found random things on the ground to play with.

finally, we ended the day with a nice dinner out at leilei's restaurant in kahuku. we can't wait for brandon's next saturday off! who knows what kind of shenanigans we'll be getting ourselves into?

That is soooo cool. You are making me homesick for Hawaii. We'll just have to come visit some time and go on a helicopter tour.

That sounds like so much fun! I'll have to put that on my list of things to do next time I come home!
