evil polaroid television

on our busy mornings, we usually turn the tv on for ahonui while brandon & i get ready for the day. he enjoys watching his PBS kids shows and it occupies him for at least a few minutes while we brush our teeth, get changed, etc. this past friday, however, he rushed into the bedroom frightened and crying. we heard a screeching noise coming from the living room so brandon went to check it out. he said the tv had lines all over the screen and just went blank.

now it won't turn on at all.

at first i thought ahonui had touched something he shouldn't have (i can never rule that kid out of any naughty equation). after researching some tv repair shops online, i have sadly come to discover that many people have had this same exact experience with this tv!!! we've had it for a little over two years, so you can imagine our surprise when it stopped working so soon after purchasing it.

i would so love to be the type of person that doesn't need a television in the house...the type that can come up with creative activities for my child to dive into rather than turning on "super why"...the type that goes on outdoor excursions instead of relaxing in front of the tube...but let's be realistic folks. that aint gonna happen with me. we are already going through withdrawals without it!! ahonui is constantly looking at our black screen and asking for "eh-mo?!". "it's okay son", i explain, "elmo's coming back soon because mommy & daddy can't handle life without a television."

boycott polaroid tvs!! they're the devil, i tell you. we're going with a trusted name like sony next time around.

I'm the same way, our family will totally not know what to do with ourselves if our t.v., didn't work. It's not only entertaining, it's can be educational- sometimes- lol!

well that just stinks. i know what you mean about needing a tv. it really does help sometimes to occupy your kids while you're busy doing something else. well, boo to polaroid tvs. i hope you get a new tv soon!

p.s. i like your new page layout. it's so festive. :)

I'm a TV junkie myself. I would be so sad if our TV didn't work. But it's true, you can watch most TV shows online.
