our 2nd nikora reunion was here in laie. it was the first time most of my father's side of the family ever came to hawaii, so we HAD to show them a good time!
since the last reunion in australia there were many new additions to the family. a lot of marriages, weddings, and BABIES! i think there were at least six new little ones since the 2004 reunion - so much can happen in three years, aye?
we rented out a beach house on hukilau beach so we could have a big meeting place for everyone, and also to hit the beach whenever we wanted! unfortunately, it was the very very busy first week of fall semester for byuh so i couldn't take off work while everyone was here. i missed out on a lot of the fun during the day, but made it to most of the night & weekend activities!
here's some of the fun stuff that we had goin on...
- glass bottom boat in kaneohe
- a day at waimea beach & touring old historic haleiwa town
- swap meet and shopping day
- pcc (of course!)
- byuh game room night
- hukilau beach day (with a sand castle building contest, relays, and games)
- girls night out @ dave & busters
- game night at laie park
- the temple visitors center with family portraits
- talent show night in marcus & nue's backyard
- sunday night hangi (uncle shane is the bomb cook!)
it's always so hard to say goodbye to my whanau. but comforting to know that we'll see everyone again soon...in 2011, that is. i better start saving for those plane tickets. yikes!
