i heart laie

every summer laie holds a "community foodfest" as part of the laie days celebrations. i look forward to this special event each year for a few reasons...

  1. we get the opportunity to sample different types of food from all over the world. no kidding...i had a roti & curry parcel from fiji, brandon had a pancit bowl from the phillipines, we both had steak sandwiches - probably american, i had a tongan mango otai drink, and what would a foodfest be without, of course, cotton candy? we were stuffed by the time we left!
  2. there is live music. since we all know how much ahonui loves to dance, this occasion was no exception. he was even jammin' in his stroller!
  3. we get to munch & mingle with old friends and community members because EVERYONE is there!
  4. ahonui is able to get some exercise and run around the byuh little circle like a mad child because we know he'll be safe in whoever's hand he lands in.

now i just hope ahonui will love this place as much as his mama, because those efforts are definitely in the works.
