no more shopping...yet

brandon usually only gets one saturday off a month. so whenever he does, we try to take full advantage of the opportunity at hand. brandon & i planned a few possible activities we wanted do that day ahead of time, and by the time saturday rolled around, we were quite excited to do something different with our time off of work together.

lucky for us, we are very fortunate to have amazing parents and siblings nearby who are willing and eager to watch ahonui at the drop of a hat. brandon's parents and brie stopped by after the temple on saturday morning just to say hi and give ahonui hugs & kisses. we took that opportunity to offer up our son to them for a few hours. they are always so gracious to take ahonui whenever we need some alone time. after they left with our little guy (who, by the way, is never disappointed to leave his parents for his grandparents), we got ready to head into town, and off we went!

we were able to fulfill our plans of getting lunch at the mall, then watching a movie, because the last time we got to catch a flick - besides netflix - was back in november! wowzers. then i dragged brandon along with me to get some much needed wardrobe shopping done. with a new university president upstairs, full-time staff wearing slippers are now frowned upon. i feel that the time has come for me to get out of the laie mentality and step up to the dress standard that normal working class folks dwell upon. this is one thing that will definitely take some getting used to. in my attempt to reach the basic standard of wearing decent BYU-Hawaii approved footwear, we went to macy's to search for the perfect professional heels.

it's too bad perfect professional heels spell uncomfortable for really wide polynesian feet. mission painfully accomplished.

Oh, Harm. I hear you. I hate shoes. I would much rather wear slippers. Or Chacos. I wore Chacos the whole time we lived in Hawaii. I wore them to church, to work, hiking, to the beach. My feet just don't like being stuffed into nice looking shoes. I hope you get used to them soon!
